On October 11th CSX train Q581 encountered torrential rain and washed out track at Lilburn, GA as the remnants of Hurricane Delta passed through the region. Both of the lead locomotives of the train plunged down an embankment and onto their sides in the murky waters of the swollen Camp Creek along with 38 rail cars. Fortunately both crew members were rescued from the scene and are doing well.
Locomotives 3438 & 3374 have been placed upon a couple of Kasgro center depressed flats at Palmer yard and await transit to Huntington, WV.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
