Remarks & Notes

The Chicago Great Western Railway was merged into the C&NW on July 1, 1968, and CGW SD40 403 is in the process of being renumbered CNW 923. CGW rostered 9 SD40s, their only six-motor power, numbered 401-409 built in August 1966 which became CNW 921-929. On the UP roster as SD40M-2 2702, ex-SP 8626, ex-MKCX 9401, ex-NRE 923, nee-CGW 403.
