Westbound thru Yuba Gap, the Reno Fun Train is led by FP7 #111, formerly SP 6447. EMD F units had passed over Donner Pass for over 25 years, but this would be the last train to be led over the pass by an F unit. From then on, F's were always in a trailing position. In 2004, an F unit in drag as a WP unit would lead an excursion train over the hill but it was an ex-VIA F9. The cars are strung out over "streamliner curve" where the City of San Francisco was stranded in the snow in January of 1952. Those tracks have since been removed.
