Remarks & Notes
Bickershaw Colliery used steam traction until 1979 until diesels arrived, when steam was demoted to standby use. A small fleet of 'Austerity' 0-6-0 saddletanks kept the coal moving. Blue liveried 'Bickershaw' propels empty coal hoppers towards the loading screens on a frosty morning.
