Working upgrade out of Cold Stream Canyon, UP 8444 has reached Andover doubleheading with UP 3985. Bringing the UP train to Railfair 1981, it was 3985's first major outing and it was still a coal burner. Two SP SD40's were in the consist and, during the climb out of Truckee, both were put into dynamic so the two steam engines would be working hard for a company film crew.
