Two Penn Central E8As move towards the engine house after bringin 3312 in from Bayhead. A GG1 waits behind them to bring the train to New York City. The New York & Long Branch was a joint Jersey Central/Pennsyvlania Railroad operation, and Pennsy trains (later Penn Central) changed engines here. It was quite an industrial era ballet to watch, with the old E8As, the twice as old GG1s, the manually operated crossing gates, and all the crews manning the engines, the gates, and the power change.
