Remarks & Notes
'David Lloyd George', one of the Double Fairlie type unique to the Ffestinog Railway, is seen in spectacular countryside soon after leaving Tanygrisiau with a Porthmadog bound train. The train is travelling on "The Deviation", a new route built almost entirely by volunteer labour between 1965 and 1978 to bypass the hydroelectric power station and its associated lake which are prominent in this picture. The lake had flooded the original formation, which can be seen above the first and second coaches of the train.
