| Even with a helper on the rear, #498 was struggling with what would turn out to be the last Eastbound revenue freight to run from Chama to Alamosa. This day would also prove to be the last day #498 would ever be under steam. If you look closely, you will see the head end brakemans arm sticking out of the doghouse. I may be wrong, but I think the locomotive resides in Durango. |
