| The Northbound Carolinian departs Durham Station on a crisp spring morning. The shorter building under the Liggett & Myers sign has been proposed to be the location of the new passenger station, replacing the overcrowded "Amshack" across the tracks from it. Durham Union Station, once serving 5 railroads in Durham's heyday, stood just a few blocks east of this location. |
