For much of its 32 mile stretch between Potter's Marsh and Girdwood, the Alaska Railroad mainline is snuggled between the scenic Seward Highway and the majestic Turnagain Arm. Here, the southbound Glacier Discovery Train is making its way across Bird Creek. A third transportation option along this beautiful corridor, the 70 mile Portage-Anchorage continuous bike trail, can be seen just to the left of the highway.
