| The Chemin de fer du Montenvers runs from Chamonix up to a station by the Hotel de Montenvers overlooking the Mer de Glace glacier. In this view a train awaits departure from the station in Chamonix. To the right is one of the original steam locomotives used on the line until 1954 when it was electrified |
