Thirty two years ago this unit was dressed in red, white, and blue as one of Erie Lackawanna's two bicentennial units, number 3632. From there it was a downhill spiral, to Conrail blue, and number 6097, and then eventually just primer gray and the number Q1. However, a year or so ago NS spiffed up the unit, giving it a modified version of the horsehead scheme, a much nicer appearance, even if it is missing half of its long hood.
This gallery contains photos of equipment and properties that became, were and used to be part of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. This gallery also contains photos of equipment paying tribute to the EL or its predecessors.
