| Photo by Kurt Strausse, deceased. Eastbound IC manifest enters double-track at East Cabin. This train is likely No 72 or No 74. The train order board shown here is that of the IC and governed eastbounds on the CB&Q and the CGW as well, from here to Portage. The radio antenna at the top of the pole behind the engine is that of the CB&Q. Photo taken in mid 60s with a Nikon F.
A historical note: East Cabin was formerly only a train order station and the switches were handled by a switch tender before about 1946. The original building stood about where the Julien Dubuque Bridge support appears in this photo.
