Remarks & Notes
CB&Q 9960CB is seen working the RIP tracks at Eola Yard on September 1, 1964. RIP stands for "repair in place." The 3-track mineline is mid-picture. This F3AB was part of three sets of ABA F3s bought in 1947 for new California Zephyr because the WP and DRG&W were going to use F units. Because they did not fit well into the E-unit rotation the Q used for intercity and suburban passenger trains, they were regeared for freight operation and their steam generators were removed. However, in this lashup, the third unit is an F7.
