Remarks & Notes
Built in 1873, in Dutch colonial era, the historic Ambarawa station is still stands proudly. This station is nowadays also used for train museum with huge collections of 21 steam locomotives varies from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Located in a hilly town of Ambarawa, it’s known also as the Willem I Railway Station in honor of the Dutch king at the time. Interestingly, it was a break-of-gauge station, originally a transshipment point between the 4ft 8 in gauge to the northeast and the 3ft 6in gauge line southward.
