Remarks & Notes

A pair of EMD SD9043MAC's lead UP's daily Salt Lake-Denver (MRONY) through the Thistle Tunnels on track #2. This trackage was constructed in 1983 through Billy's Mountain, avoiding the former town of Thistle, then completely submerged in mud and water from a massive mud slide and spring runoff, forever closing the former D&RGW mainline through town.
