| On the Union Pacific Sunset Route a stack train works it's way up grade from Gila Bend into Shawmut. It is a 700 foot elevation gain. The setting sun silhouettes the engines in sharp contrast. This area is now part of the Sonoran Desert National Monument. It's a beautiful stretch of desert that will stay that way. |
