The only remaining former NSWGR ALCo 43 class, 4306, leads also preserved 442 Class ALCo 44211 on the annual Melbourne (Horse racing) Cup Day Southern Aurora special from Sydney to Melbourne on Tuesday 6 November 2007. The recently electrified broad gauge suburban and north east country lines are to the left of the standard gauge line and sidings.
