The Australian version of the "World Series" ALCo FA unit was the A.E. Goodwin-built 930 and 44 Class for the South Australian (later AN) and New South Wales Railways, respectively. During the 1980s the 930 class were involved with interworking between SA and Victoria. Under a heavy sky, four broad gauge 930 class, 932 931 930 and 937 are seen climbing Ingliston Bank, near Bacchus Marsh (west of Melbourne) towards Bank Box loop on 9121 down goods from Melbourne to Adelaide on almost the shortest day of the year (for the Antipodes) in 1985. The effects of several miles of heavy sanding can been seen on the sides of the locomotives.
