The Hope Valley in Derbyshire is beautiful in any weather, but on this still, cool, clear and quite perfect Sunday morning the main quality to be appreciated was anticipation! The approaching train could be heard for some miles before it's wonderful appearance. I COULD have waited a fraction longer before pressing the shutter, but then I'd have masked off the daffodils on the embankment and the colours of the weeping willow - so I didn't!
