| Century 628 #3123 awaits a sad fate in the boneyard of the Bull Ring. Even as I clicked this frame on my Fujica ST-801, I was thinking that I couldn't wait to write Jim Edmonston for his Trackside in the Diesel Age column at "Railroad Magazine" to let him know that I saw this machine. I also couldn't wait to write Bill Hughes who edited RFL Where the Power is colum at "Extra 2200 South" to thank him for getting me to this spot. C628 #3123 was deliverd in March of 1965 as #4858. It was renumbered to #7113 before becoming #3123 when rebuilt in the Houston shops about 1973/74. |
