| This station was formerly known as "Pennsylvania Station" and was built in 1908 by the Pennsylvania Railroad. This is yet another in a series of landmarks left by the once mighty PRR along it's route from Washington DC to New York City. Prior to PRR's arrival in Wilmington, an earlier and much smaller station erected by the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad once occupied this spot.
