Remarks & Notes |
EF200 is the most powerful Japanese locomotive featured as 6000kW (DC 1500V) and 120km/h. Total 21 units were built during 1990-1993. The power of 6000kW is huge among the Japanese locos as all the rests are mostly with less than 4000kW. That featuring huge power brought EF200 a tragedy that the ground facilities of electric substations could not supply enogh power to EF200s. Now the power-effective EF210 (3390kW) has almost taken the place of EF210 as a main cast of Tokaido/Sanyo main lines. |
