| Ffestiniog Railway B-B diesel hydraulic locomotive Vale of Ffestiniog is currently on loan to the Welsh Highland and is seen here passing LLyn Cwellyn at Bron-y-fedw with the mountain of Mynydd Mawr in the background. Originally built by CH Funkey & Co in South Africa, this and another loco were acquired by the Ffestiniog in 1993. Vale of Ffestiniog was extensively rebuilt to suit that railways limited loading gauge while the other loco, now named Castell Caernarfon was chosen for use on the Welsh Highland railway and left in original condition, but is currently out of service, hence the loan of Vale of Ffestiniog |
