| PROGRESS: C&O #2789 Built by Alco in 1947 for the Chessapeake & Ohio, she's one of several Kanawha survivors. She was donated by the railroad in 1961 to the city of Peru, Indiana in 1961 and later moved to the Hoosier Valley RR Museum in North Judson, Indiana in 1988 with hopes of restoration. Those hopes remain high with a restoration in progress (boiler tubing removed and new tubes on site) but an infusion of funds are required to move the project forward. |
