UP's KG1LA "monster" stack train (11,766ft, 162 cars) heads westward on a beautiful desert morning with an outstanding consist in charge. Leading the pack is Western Pacific heritage unit 1983, followed up by Southern Pacific heritage locomotive 1996, and finally UP 2002 which commemorates the 2002 Salt Lake City winter Olympics. This behemoth also featured two mid-train DPUs which were in standard UP livery, and can be seen in this photo.
