Remarks & Notes
Now THAT's what I call exhaust - even an Alco would be jealous! A pair of geeps sit on the "mainline" in front of the Fairbanks yard office humming away in high idle working hard just to stay warm on this Saturday afternoon. It's not quite 3 PM and the sun is soon to dip below the horizon. The temperature is -25 and headed south too! The smoke and steam plume that seems to blend with the exhaust from the trailing GP38-2 is actually rising from the Aurora Energy "City" Power Plant a half mile or so to the north east. The power plant is a steady ARR customer burning coal mined at Usibelli to the south.
