As yet another December snow storm blankets the Kanawha Valley, CSX 5418 and a gaggle of EMD locomotives idle in the Westward Siding on Q302. Normally, the siding is used for coal trains, but as a resulf of nearly 24" of snow falling in the mountains of West Virginia, Q302 was unable to continue east. RP.net contributor Nicholas Marakovits can also be seen snapping his image of the rare sight. This was the largest snowfall in the Kanawha Valley in nearly a decade with snow totals ranging from 7" to 15".
