Remarks & Notes |
The usually colorful NS 339 is seen rolling underneath the local landmark ACL viaduct. The viaduct used to be the only means by which ACL trains from Manchester, GA made their way into Birmingham until a connection track was established with the L&N at Parkwood in 1966. The viaduct was abandoned by CSX in 1988 and donated to the City of Bessemer where it still stands tall. |
