| Road and Rail Amtrak 20 waits on the Atlantic steel spur as a torrent of cars fly by on Interstate 75/85 with the lights of midtown glowing in the background. The Crescent has been terminating in Atlanta this week due to trackwork on the NS East End and is getting ready to head north. The spur the train is parked on once lead to the massive Atlantic steel mill, which was torn down in the last decade and replaced with the new Atlantic Station development. This picture shows why Atlanta desperately needs commuter rail! |
