Grand Trunk Western U3b class 4-8-4 is shown on a photo run by in August 1960 on a fan trip out of Chicago. This engine is a sister to the 6325, which is part of the Ohio Central steam locomotive collection. The 6322 powered a second section of Detroit-Durrand passenger number 21 on March 23, 1960--the last use of steam power on a regularly scheduled passenger train in the US. Notice how photographers just scattered back then. Someone later came up with the novel idea of a "photo line," so everyone could get an "action" shot without other photographers standing in the scene. Alas, the 6322 was not saved from scrap.
