Remarks & Notes |
This is a Brissonneau & Lotz shunter at Gare de Nice, under the elevated Voie Pierre Mathis fast track (highway). The unit was part of the first delivery of this locomotives, built in 1953 as an 040 Deonte and replaced steam on mixed passenger and freight, as well as operating in stations and yards. This one is wearing the as-delviered green and yellow stripe livery of a shunter. These units were very popular and reliable, with 853 built between 1953 and 1971. |
