| A Red Line train slows to a stop at Sheridan Road, a station sandwiched in between two 90 degree turns that date back to pre 1900 when this elevated was constructed. The right of way was shifting from one alongside an alley to run north alongside the Milwaukee steam railroad. This was orignally an express/local stop, one short of the end terminal at Wilson AV. Evanston Express trains...OOPS! Purple Line trains run express on the outside tracks today and the Red Line trains do local service. I have two other photos on the DB looking out at each end of this station. |
