After running from North Little Rock to Van Buren in less-than-stellar weather conditions, the 844 was displayed west of the yard for the evening. Somehow the clouds, and the crowds, parted for a few minutes, allowing for some superbly lit images of the 1944-built Alco. The 844 is now in its 50th year of service as UP's goodwill ambassador... thanks, UP, for honoring your heritage.
