Remarks & Notes |
A 'doubleheader' UTA FrontRunner commute departs Salt Lake Central for Ogden and points north. The second MP36 on the train (UTA 17) is brand spanking new, undergoing testing for future revenue service between Ogden and Provo. This location is along UP's double track main at the North Temple bridge, a landmark temporarily missing while crews replace the old structure with a new bridge which will include light rail trackage leading to Salt Lake International Airport. Structures the background make up the Gateway Mall on acreage once occupied by Union Pacific's passenger station terminal and freight transfer warehouse at what used to be UP's South Yard. It seems the railscape in Utah's Capitol City is in a continual state of change. |
