Remarks & Notes |
A pair of Amtrak conductors appear to be sharing hand signals, or perhaps attempting to fly? It's early in the morning at Denver Union Station and a slightly late train #5 has arrived from Chicago. Baggage is being loaded into the outbound train while the inbound engineer is visible climbing off the head end. Salt Lake City is about 570 miles and 14 hours away by rail across Colorado and Utah and the Continental Divide. The 50 mile climb from Denver up the Front Range to the Moffat Tunnel has the photographer as excited as a little kid on Christmas Eve! |
