Remarks & Notes 
Brownsand, as the name implies, is where the Fitzgerald Subdivision drastically changes its track profile. Southward trains must climb Pine Mountain to depart Manchester and then must navigate the southeastern side of the mountain on a downward grade. At Brownsand, the land flattens out and Waycross bound trains can drastically speed up as evidenced by the exhaust trailing the locomotives
