Remarks & Notes
69023 is a member of the J72 class and has been recently restored to original condition by members of the NELPG. It is of a design that was first built in 1898 and building of these locomotives continued for over 50 years. It has been loaned to Tanfield railway for the next month's activities which conclude with their Gala weekend in September. It is seen here next to Tanfield's latest restoration project inside the oldest working railway shed in the world, built in 1854.
