Remarks & Notes
Boone & Scenic Valley 6540 rolls past the YMCA camp between Fraser and Boone, Iowa. No. 6540 is a model FP9A, and was built by General Motors in July 1958 as Canadian National 6540. It became Via Rail Canada 6450 on March 31, 1971 and after a long career in Canada was sold to the Northeast Kansas Railroad Museum in 1994. The unit was exhibited in Atchison, Kansas for many years before being sold to the B&SV in 2002. Its paint scheme honors the C&NW, once a strong presence in Boone.

There's something for everyone: Chinese steam locomotives, diesels, interurbans and more.
