1 - I want to inform you all, friends of Railnet, about some picutures realized by a soldier German photographer: Walter Hollnagel. During German occupation in Italy he supplied documents about american bombardment of Railway FS structures. his coloured photos are realized by a Leica, using Agfacolor film 13 din. This photo: Water supply under emergency conditions for the steam locomotive group 735 in the depot of Ancona, now destroyed. The only solution is to remove water from the tender of other locomotives in a chain with buckets. Images that suggest the absurdity of war.
