| These former Santa Fe GP60M’s used to tear down the high iron pulling crack inter-modals, but are now down graded for local service. Here a pair is backing about two miles down the remnants of Santa Fe’s Magdalena branch to service the Dicaperi Corp. perlite ore mining operation. This is the last industry located on the original 27 mile branch built to tap into the ore boom. The line beyond the Dicaperi plant was pulled in 1972. |
