13.9 miles north of Bakersfield, California, the BNSF Railway's Lone Star Branch splits off the Bakersfield Subdivision's mainline and heads west through the almond groves. On March 11, 2011, train Y-BAK3071-10I waits among the almond blossoms (and a lot of bees) behind GP38 2163 and GP38-2s 2316 and 2319, which provide a splash of color to the scene.
