RF&P's northbound local freight No. 3 (Acca Local) was leaving Elletts, VA on Jan. 14, 1978 after switching the Best Products Co. distribution center. Considering we had one of central Virginia's famous ice storms the night before, I am sure that the crew had problems just managing to stay vertical. The sun had just popped out. In an hour or so, it would all be gone.
