| Big Six at Bald Knob Former Western Maryland Shay #6 does its impression of a volcano while climbing the 9% grade to Bald Knob with the log train in tow during a photo charter at the Cass Scenic Railroad last week. This portion of the track is not original to the line. The logging spur that reached the Bald Knob overlook located behind the photographer veered to the left (photograph right) about 1/10th of a mile below this location and looped around the summit to reach the two skidder sets and the logging camp located at the summit. |
