| CP 5637 and 5663 on a CP detour train 503 roll past the ex Soo station at Shawano. The Soo and later WC route from Sault Ste. Marie to Chicago was rather round about as it went all the way to central Wisconsin at Argonne before swinging south. After the WC purchased the ex CNW lines in Michigan and Wisconsin they rationalized the route, using the ex CNW from North Escanaba to Green Bay and Neenah and abandoned some of the old Soo route. |
