Through The Pines. North of Willaha siding, the flat desert that surrounds the southern end of the GCRY slowly gives way to rolling, pine-forested hills. Nearing The Hole, the hills get big enough to require S-curves and a lot of cutting and filling, evidenced by #4960 rolling through the cut at milepost 56.
