Remarks & Notes
About 75 miles east of Reno Nevada. The westbound California Zephyr was struck by a empty gravel semi. I ran to the front expecting to see damage to the unit. Not two superliners torn open with fire roaring in them. I was riding in the third superliner of this train. This view shows the crossing and the remains of the semi and its two trailers scattered all over. Also a UP westbound is shown waiting behind us.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
