The best time to photograph this former Reading Railroad Bridge is when SEPTA runs their longer rush hour trains such as this locomotive pulled consist captured in the evening when the light is just right.

This bridge crosses the Delaware River and was built in 1912. In the foreground you can still see piers from the Yardleyville Centenial Bridge which was built in 1875. PRR's bridge is 3.6 miles down river. Like the PRR bridge on the NEC, this bridge, too, was gateway route for the Reading and B&O into NYC. Passenger service currently terminates at West Trenton.
