Remarks & Notes
The Deseret Power Ry in eastern Utah and western Colorado is in the middle of a project to repaint their entire fleet of 4 active E60C’s. So far they have completed two of them; DPR #1 and DPR #4 (formerly NdeM EA012). DPR #1 is their preferred leading unit and the most recently painted. Here it is between MP33 and 32 on its eastward trip back to the Deserado Mine for another load. In this view it is out of the paint shop for less than a week. I saw Unit DPR #2 at the railroad’s shop on August 30, masked off and being prep’d for painting so it won’t be long before their daily train will sport 3 freshly painted units up front. Looking great for units built in 1983!
