Remarks & Notes 
A very interesting combination of power leads a westbound SP freight. The 434-B & A are SD40 prototype units built on SD35 frames. They also had flared radiators which appered later on SD45 units. The next unit is mammoth 5,000 h.p. GE U50 8502, one of only three bought by SP.
